Three UMB Students Selected for International Community Service Program in Malaysia

Bengkulu - Three students from Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu (UMB) have been officially selected to participate in the International Integrated Community Service Program (KKN Internasional Terintegrasi) hosted by the Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Education Network across Indonesia. The program will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from July to August 2022, and will involve cross-cultural engagement, educational service, and community development activities.

The selected students are:

  • Thomi Rizqullah Habibi (Law Studies Program)

  • Ami Bunga Wulandari (Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program)

  • Recho Prabowo (Law Studies Program)

This prestigious program gathers students from Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah-affiliated universities throughout Indonesia to serve abroad while strengthening educational diplomacy and cross-border collaboration. In Malaysia, the students will work alongside local organizations, Indonesian diaspora communities, and educational institutions to promote cultural exchange, civic engagement, and grassroots education.

"This achievement reflects the growing global readiness of UMB students. Our university continues to encourage international participation as a strategic priority," said the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs. "These students are not just representing UMB, but also carrying the values of Muhammadiyah to the international stage."

Through this initiative, UMB underscores its commitment to internationalization and practical field experience as integral parts of student development. The selected participants will return with strengthened leadership, intercultural communication, and problem-solving skills critical for their future careers.

The International KKN program is part of UMB’s broader push to provide its students with global exposure and applied learning opportunities, following the university’s roadmap toward becoming a leading Muhammadiyah institution in Southeast Asia.
