The Office of Cooperation and International Affairs (OCIA) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu (UMB) serves as the central hub for promoting and managing the university’s international engagements. As UMB's official gateway to the global academic community, OCIA plays a strategic role in fostering international partnerships, facilitating cross-border collaboration, and enhancing the global visibility of the university. With a strong commitment to internationalization, OCIA is responsible for coordinating a wide array of programs that connect students, faculty, and institutional partners across continents.
Over the past few years, OCIA has made significant strides in strengthening UMB’s global presence through various high-impact initiatives. The student exchange program has connected UMB students with partner universities in Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, Türkiye, and the Philippines, providing them with life-changing academic and cultural experiences. In addition to mobility, OCIA actively supports joint research collaborations with institutions in Taiwan, Thailand, and Türkiye, fostering international scholarly output and innovation. The office has also successfully launched international community service programs (KKN) in Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Brunei Darussalam, enabling students to engage directly with diverse global communities while applying their academic knowledge in real-world contexts.
Furthermore, OCIA facilitates visiting professor programs, double degree schemes, and other academic initiatives that enrich the intellectual and cultural atmosphere of UMB. By creating pathways for global interaction—whether through short-term exchanges, long-term academic programs, or collaborative research—OCIA ensures that Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu remains an active player in the international higher education landscape. With its growing portfolio of global activities, OCIA continues to empower students and faculty to embrace a broader, more inclusive academic journey rooted in excellence, collaboration, and intercultural understanding.
